Major Project for this Year:

At the end of the year each student is asked to pick any region/city in the world to research the climate change. Students will trace, analyze, and give a short presentation on the city they chose. In the presentation, the student will explain how the climate change has impacted society today within the region/city they chose. The student will also give details on what they think the people of the region/city could have done to change the future positively.

I have provided links to the right that will gear students in the right direction. These links should NOT be the ONLY online resource students provide.

Each student should watch this short clip on Global Warming before beginning on Climate Change Project:

SMARTboards

SMARTboards are great because students become more engaged in the classroom lessons.

Laptops in Classrooms

The use of computers is what makes it possible for students to gather research, communicate with teachers, and type papers.

Long Divison using a SMARTboard

This video is just one example of how technology can be incorporated in school.

Why Technology is Necessary for Schools

In order to teach more effectively, teachers must use every available resource. Technology makes it much easier for students to learn and teachers to teach.
After every class, I will post the class notes for that day on this site. This allows for students who have missed class to read over the notes. These notes will only be left up for one week. Of course, I keep a copy of the notes for the entire year, so if you need notes from a week ago just let me know.
In addition to technology helping with class notes, it also allows for better communication with the students and parents. Technology is also useful for comprehension of a subject. If a concept isn't clearly understood, you will find that I post YouTube links on my site to help with any difficult concepts.

Welcome!

I would like to welcome students, and parents to my customized blog! I would like to begin by telling you a bit about myself. I graduated from Georgia State University with a B.S.E. in M.C.E. and also plan on receiving my master's within the next two years. I look forward to learning what areas in math/science students are interested and more about each individual student.
